Under the Liquor Act, the Liquor Commission is required to hold public hearings about applications relating to liquor licenses. The Liquor Commission has broad powers to determine how the hearing will be conducted, including the power to require a person to appear before it to give evidence on oath. The Liquor Commission can determine to conduct the hearing in private where it considers undue hardship would arise to a person if it were held on public.
